In today’s society, everyone says you need to go to college and get some sort of degree to be successful and live a happy, wealthy life. Some say if you don’t go to college, you’re just going to work in a factory for the rest of your life or flip burgers at a fast food place. Well, a lot of people who are successful today didn’t attend college a single day in their life and have proven that claim to be false. Just because someone works at a factory doesn’t mean they won’t make a lot of money and hate their job. I know a lot of people who would rather work a factory job rather than have have a desk job or be a manager/boss of a company. Personally, I think job training is the way to go; no college debt or student loans, you don’t have to worry about someone else taking your job unless you don’t prove to them you’re worthy of having that job, and you’ll have a guaranteed job and not have to worry about graduating from college and end up not being able to get a job that you just paid a huge amount of money for. Mr. Armstrong told us a story of a kid he had just a few years ago in class who became a diesel mechanic by doing job training, and now he owns two different shops and is making $150,000 a year. He has no college debt, he didn’t have to worry about getting a job in the field he studied, and he has job security for the rest of his life now that he has started two different repair shops. Working hard to become successful is another way that you can live a great life
