The United States of America is, and continues to be, associated in many people’s minds with freedom. A handful of individuals between 1400-1800 CE can be held accountable for this conceptualization of American Freedom. Some men such as Samuel Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and Thomas Jefferson aided or attempted to aid the African slaves imported to the British colonies during the 18th century in there fight for freedom. Meanwhile a large portion of the white population in the colonies was being denied basic civil liberties and omitting John and Abigail Adams no one seemed to care. One man in this time appears to have no concern for the freedoms of any group of people, including his subjects.
Freedom in the First Amendment “If you’re not going to offend somebody you don’t need the First Amendment.” -Larry Flynt. This means that if you are not going to say anything about someone out of your free will, then you don’t need the first amendment. Having the first amendment is very important to many people to having the freedom to many things in their life.

“Those who surrender freedom for security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one” stated by Benjamin Franklin. Freedom of speech, freedom to express your thoughts and freedom to live the American lifestyle is now limited all because of the Patriot Act. The Patriot Act was passed by Congress on October 24, 2001 after the devastating terrorist attack on September 11, 2001; thousands of people lost their lives. The Patriot Act was created to find and prosecute terrorists operating in the United States of America ;the lesser known Military Commissions Act (MCA) was created to" give the President absolute power to designate enemy combatants, and to set his own definitions for torture." Nevertheless, with all of these laws and regulations
Growing up we were taught that we all have certain rights as citizens of the U.S. The Bill of Rights which includes the first ten amendments to the U.S. Constitution are America’s guidelines to these rights. The First Amendment give us our rights to freedom of religion and speech. This phrase “freedom of religion and speech” is a broad one, which is why we go into great detail about what it specifically covers. The establishment clause, free exercise clause, free speech, free press, and the right to protest are the liberties included.
Do you have any rights or freedom? If you don't have freedom you should check with the constitution. They hold the amendments of America. “The amendments are on the bill of rights and there 27 of them today”. The first amendment holds our freedom, and was very important to the people.
The amount of freedom that America gives to us goes mostly unnoticed in this country. Citizens of the United States have freedom of speech, the right to bare arms, freedom of religion, technology, a good education system, and democratic government. In our country's constitution, we are allowed to say what we think about the government without having any punishments. Since we have this right our government is able to hear the public’s opinion and do what is most beneficial for the people. In addition, the government allows us to protect ourselves properly by having the right to bare arms.
In this case, since I decide to have a dinner with him and decided to challenge him, I will disagree with his belief. I am going to talk to him and try to influence his philosophical belief. I am going to say that politicians should be loved rather than feared. I am also going to disagree with his statement saying that people will take
he United States of America hasn’t necessarily “swung” too far away from its heritage of liberty. With most issues there isn’t really such a thing as the “good old days;” there has been political movements on trying to cash in their liberty for security since the 1800s. There has always been a tension between people who value liberty and people who want to throw America values aside so that they can be comfortable and prosperous and also safe. Fortunately, the importance and fragility of freedom is written strongly enough into our culture that they rarely get very far. The passage of unconstitutional law and a denial of liberty to men all happen because we permit it.
Question # 1 First off, freedom is ultimately the most important priority and right for any individual, the freedom of living here in America were we are protected by our National defense and freedom to choose from right and wrong. With that being said freedom vs order would take precedence over freedom vs equality, without order our country would have no direction, authority or supervision. Unfortunately, the world would run amuc, like barbarians, dominating the streets with the notion that we are all entitled and just as equal as the next. Not to say that equality is of no importance, we all should be treated equally, but only if we are doing what is right.
From an early age, young Americans learn the importance of the fact that America was, is, and will always be a free country founded on ideals of religious freedom. What is often left out of the picture is the international impact of the American freedom ideal. Much due to the cultural impact of the first American freedom document, the Declaration of Independence, 118 of the 208 sovereign states of the world now have the same freedom as the United States. That number is in itself an ever-growing testament to the possibility of globally-free government. This is not to say that American government as it is today grew from nothing.
Patriot’s Pen “What Freedom Means to Me” I take freedom as a strong subject. I take it strongly because this country has gone through so much relating to the subject, such as the Revolutionary War. Many black people have fought for their freedom. If you would've ever thought to yourself what freedom meant, a thousand thoughts would rush to your head about racism and physical/mental abuse. In my opinion what freedom means to me is perspective, independence, and most of all respect for yourself and to others.
Two Concepts of Liberty Summary of the essay: In this essay, the famous political theorist Isaiah Berlin tries to differentiate between the notions of positive liberty and negative liberty. Berlin briefly discusses the meaning of the word ‘freedom’. He says that a person is said to free when no man or body of men interferes with his activity. He makes reference to many philosophers in the essay, but there is more emphasis on the thoughts of J. S. Mill and Rousseau, the former being a firm advocate of negative liberty while the latter believes strongly in the ideals of positive liberty.

Americans are obsessed with personal freedom. Personal freedom is so important to them that they are often unwilling to take the necessary measures to protect that freedom. If security measures go against their principles of freedom they would rather take the risks then compromise this sense of liberty. As an example, having a security guard at an airport or store empty the contents of one’s bag or pockets offends most American’s sense of personal freedom.
