Information Security Issues

In the fast growing field of information, there ought to arise critical issues which can hamper the integrity of the stored information. Information Security is one of the major critical issues in the field of information. Data privacy and security risks are increasing for every company or institution. It is agreed that new technology brings great mobility and innovative opportunities, but also increases the risk of data breaches, theft, hacking, and internal fraud. Some of the common threats today are software attacks, identity theft, theft of equipment or information, sabotage, and information extortion. It is very important for information to be confidential and hidden from unauthorized users to avoid the misuse of such critical information.

A white hat or an ethical hacker breaks security for non-malicious reasons, perhaps to test their own security system or while working for a security company which makes security software. Whereas, a black hat hacker is a hacker who violates computer security for little reason beyond maliciousness or for personal gain. Issues occur because of such predators who exploit the systems to steal or destroy information. They typically use phishing scams, spam email or instant messages to deliver dangerous malware to the user’s computer and compromise their computer security. Another way is to introduce a Trojan. A Trojan may record each and every keystroke the user makes, saves the information to a hidden file, and automatically upload it to the hacker 's computer. The user must use a firewall to block unauthorized access and install good virus scanner program to keep data

I am looking forward to learning from Prof. Predrag Klasnja whose research interest particularly lies at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction and Health Informatics. His conference paper named “Designing for Healthy Lifestyles: Design Considerations for Mobile Technologies to Encourage Consumer Health and Wellness” beautifully states the intricate details while developing mobile wellness systems and the importance of having a well-designed mobile application In order to integrate it in the user’s life without much burden on the user. Making technology useful in the field of health informatics, is an intriguing thought. Integrating my learnings in the field of Human-Computer Interaction with Health Informatics is my aim and with guidance from a revered professor like Mr. P. Klasnja, I will definitely prove to be a superlative addition to your esteemed University. Moreover, I see myself making the fullest use of the Community Health Informatics Lab to implement and test my designs and to carry out complete & quality
