Key Factors in Seattle's Rebuilding an NBA Team

Once home to the Supersonics, Seattle was one of the most successful NBA teams from 1967 to 2008, until they relocated to Oklahoma City in 2008. However, with Seattle's rapid economic growth and the NBA's expansion plans, the citizens of Seattle hope that an NBA team can once again return to the city with its basketball heritage. Here are a few key factors that teams must consider bringing an NBA team back to Seattle and prevent Seattle from losing their team again.

And to renovate the Key Arena, then-owner Schultz sought financial help from the state of Washington to fund the construction of a new arena somewhere near the Seattle area. But things went very badly, and after failing to reach an agreement on the financing of a new arena or the cost of renovating KeyArena, Schultz felt he had no choice but to sell the team. This was one of the major factors that led to the Seattle Sonics moving out of Seattle. (Jordan Ritter Conn, 2019) And building a new state-of-the-art arena could help the team not leave because of the arena. Things like luxury suites, club seating and family friendly areas, an open concourse with many food and beverage options, the latest technology features, and intimate design with seating close to the field will create an exciting game day experience for fans. And 15 years after the city of Seattle lost its NBA team, I believe the people and government of the area are willing to invest in a new arena for a new NBA team.
