Around the time of 1680 the world was a very lively place. Humans were colonizing new lands, discovering new scientific ideas, and inventing new technologies such as the telescope. Essentially, an ideal place to live around this time period would be a well established country with a stable economy. I chose England as the place that would be most suitable for me to live in due to a number of factors which include, freedom of speech, new technological advances, scientific inventions, transportation, medicine and education. They had invented the stagecoach around the mid 17th century. The stagecoaches ran through the most major english towns and were powered by horses. Having this advanced transportation allowed people to visit new cities much faster than normal. Medicine and health would also be a determining factor as to why i chose to live in England. Around 1680, the english decided to take a more scientific approach to medicine and some began to question traditional ideas which began to improve their medicine and find cures for illness such as malaria. Another reason as to why i would have liked to live in England would be due to the fact that woman had a right to education during this time period. Around mid 17th century, boarding schools for girls were founded for girls to learn how to read, write, play a musical instrument and how to do needlework. Girls of higher class were also typically tutored by a professor and had about the same education as an average man. Overall, England in the 17th century seems like a world of expansion and growth. People are working towards the modern day society that we have today for example by creating the first stagecoach that would eventually become a car or moving towards equality of woman by allowing them to go to
