Matthew's writing in the bible is the most nourishing of the gospels because of the relationship in the midst of the Hebrew ideas of the covenant and the understanding of what they believed as heaven. The fundamental reasoning of why Matthew's Gospel is most important is because of its structure to provide the Jewish viewpoint. Guthrie (1990:32) provides this dominance that is in the Old Testament citations and the most obvious is the prime consideration in talking about the author's purpose. However the general societies thought as a whole does not completely agree with the Jewish influences of the Gospel. The reason why Matthew uses this format is of the gentiles in the church. There is this desire to reach out the gentiles and this format gives common ground Matthew to tell the story of Jesus. Matthew's writing provides a way for him to use a dramatic conflict between the Pharisees who are to represent the covenant community and Jesus. The dramatic effect of his writing presents a stronger conflict with Matthew's Christological claim which gives Jesus' kingdom the authority to present God in the new covenant. Matthew's is influenced by Greek tragedy because Matthew uses their structure by writing the plot with logical thought, united actions and characters. It is obvious that Matthew's writing is pushed toward the kingdom. Matthew takes the crucial Jewish issues and hid them in a way to have it appeal to the Hellenised Jew; which created this new culture of a Non-Jewish of a culture. The best way to appeal to humans is by dramatic effect. Because of using a dramatic effect by Matthew using the story of Jesus appearing to be one of the tragedies as tension against Jesus increased popularity and the message of the kingdom is then ignored.
