After reading, I discovered that the point of view in this essay was very important. You can clearly understand what the creature is saying in the excerpt. Also he’s telling it from first person too. I can somewhat see how it relates to some people. For example, when he says that he wants to become friends with the villagers but they don’t like him. But since he’s in first person, it helps understand his existence better. Even though it’s not human, you can understand where he’s coming from. He didn’t choose to look that way, they only see what he looks like on outside not what he feels on inside. You can learn that the creature was treated poorly by people.
