Rhetoric is considered technical writing, which is analyzed for developing good writing skills. The techniques used for rhetoric are: For what reason or purpose to conduct the writing, knowing your audience or reader beforehand, what type of setting and language being conveyed and what relationship does the writer give to the reader. My definition of rhetoric before the readings was simply: successful written or oral communication with a clear purpose & audience in mind. After completing the readings, I have decided that is not specific enough and does not encompass what rhetoric really is.
