Technology, something we use every day whether we think we do or not, but is technology always helpful? For example, the internet. The internet is helpful in a multitude of ways, such as researching for a paper, or simply watching cat videos on YouTube. With all of these great and wonderful things you can do on the internet, it’s hard to believe that the internet can be a scary place. From people pretending to be people they’re not, to dangerous “Simon Says” type games, in which the final task is self harm or suicide, maybe technology isn’t always the best. Isn’t education a good thing? Well, yes. I many cases, education is a good thing. Although in my opinion, the Industrial Revolution isn’t one of those cases. Education then was very poor. With most children working in the factory or in the mines, they were not at school very often, if at all. I imagine that the walk to and from school would be very dangerous. The streets were terrifying, even for full grown adults. With pedophiles, thieves and murderers in the crowded streets, wearing the mask of a starving or overworked factory worker, the streets were dangerous for everyone. Honestly, I wouldn’t want to go to school during the revolution. Though the list of terrible things that happened in the Industrial revolution is endless, I believe this is enough to make up your mind about whether the Industrial Revolution was positive or negative.
Would you have wanted to live in the Industrial Revolution? I know I wouldn’t. With starvation, fear, death and disease on every doorstep, there’s hardly a positive thing to dig out of this mess. As you all know, we are no longer in this terrible time. We have cleaned up the environment and make working and living conditions better and much less dangerous. Factories are now restricted and have to follow health laws. We have moved upwards, and let us hope that we never enter a period like the Industrial Revolution
