As we watch TV we all see the ASPCA commercials with the dogs chained to trees, cats locked in cages and animals just being neglected. Who rescues these unwanted animals? Who gives the homeless animals a home? The answer is the humane societies and animal shelters of the area. Although some may be unaware, here in our hometown of Alpena we have the Huron Humane Society that takes in the unwanted animals of Alpena county.
