My initial impression of this story was that I thought this story was going to be about a person who died and a sad story. The genre is fiction. The exposition is when Mrs.Mallard had a heart condition and everybody was treating her carefully. The rising action is that when Mrs.Mallard’s sister found out that her husband died in a car accident. The climax is when Josephine told Louise to open the door because she was trying to make herself ill. The falling action is when Louise opened the door and came out. Mallard was afflicted with a heart trouble, great care was taken to break to her as gently as possible the news of her husband's death.” this stand out because both people either or sick or dead. Another reason is Mrs. Mallard couldn’t take the news anyway. “When the storm of grief had spent itself she went away to her room alone. She would have no one follow her”. This stood out because Mrs. Mallard wanted to by herself. This also stood out because I first thought she was going to commit suicide. “Free! Body and soul free!" she kept whispering”. This stood because she locked herself in a room so she can have fresh air. It also stood out because Josephine was scared that Louise was going to do something else. “When the doctors came they said she had died of heart disease--of the joy that kills”. This stood out because in the beginning of the story Mrs. Mallard said joy kills and that’s what happened to her. Also I knew she was going to die in the beginning of the story. “It was Brently Mallard who entered, a little travel-stained, composedly carrying his grip-sack and umbrella. He had been far from the scene of the accident, and did not even know there had been one”. This stood out because everyone said he’s dead but then shows up later in the story. Also Mrs. Mallard thought he was dead if he didn’t die probably Mrs. Mallard wouldn’t
