THE INCREDIBLES Film makers user many different tricks and techniques to try and grasp the attention of the viewers when it come to making an award winning film. Techniques such as colours, music and sounds, lighting and camera angles play a big part in making the film seem more realistic and attention seeking. The Incredibles is about Bob Parr (A.K.A. Mr. Incredible), and his wife Helen (A.K.A. Elastigirl), the famous crime-fighting superheroes in Metroville. Always saving lives and battling evil. But fifteen years later, they have been forced to live as civilian identities and retreat to the suburbs where they have no choice but to retire of being a superhero with their three children Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack. Bob gets his chance to get back into action when a mysterious lady calls him to a remote island for a top secret assignment. By the director (Brad Bird) placing the character in certain areas of the frames or by using shadows to show who is the main person or object in that specific frame, staging is a great way of grasping the audience's attention. Another concept used was the rule of thirds. This has to do with the basic principle of placing the subject matter away from the middle of the frame. This avoids dead centre composition which can make an image seem to look unnatural and mechanical. There are many examples of this for instance when Violet and Dash are in the forest and they look at the mechanical bird, the bird is on the top left block and they are in the bottom right
