There once was a time when telephones, electric light bulbs, automobiles, and other things were exciting new discoveries. We call that time the Industrial Revolution. So much of what we do day to day is automatic. We have to go somewhere, so we hop in a car. We flick a switch and lights turn on. The phone rings and we answer it. Machines in city factories began making goods that had previously been made by hand and by farm families in their homes.
