The Maker Movement has since been established for the independent inventors,designers and tinkerers. A combination of arts and technology who love to tinker about and creating new things that came to rise along with the advancement of technology and for some, marketing their product to the public.However the traditional crafters where their hands are the main source of development have since dwindled.
Craft is considered to contain critical thinking that results in the authenticity of a product. A skill of which that is quickly beginning to be overridden by technology. To them craft was dead. Though what is considered craft now is brought about by the Hipster Movement where they find that making stuff with your hands is trendy and engaging.. What’s more they have invented a new expression for it. They are not crafty people, they are Makers. Making it possible for anyone to be tinkerers and not having to master the skill.
Impressed by such a feat, Chris Anderson boss of wired, declared the new industrial revolution as the Maker Movement. During the craft period, we made things that were considered a necessity . Makers in the modern era created craft beers, boutique vodkas and avant-garde wines that are unfiltered, preservative free, often orange and, just as often awful to taste and most of the time is for marketing purposes. Though currently in the present technology has become more accessible and beneficial to makers, providing a personal connection to the backbone of the movement and has a better chance at supporting artisans for the years to come. Yet in this age, crafters have move on to be makers and tinkering with new prospects in different fields.
