Has your future ever been changed or effect by someone else’s opinion or actions? The opinions of others can lead to danger, change in your future, or even the way you dress. A lot of people are truly an deeply effected by what others think or do. In the texts, “Romeo and Juliet,” “Pyramus and Thisbe,” and “Fault of Our Stars,” the opinions and actions of others change or effect the future of the main characters.

In the text, “Romeo and Juliet,” the character of Benvolio shares his opinion and influences the actions of Romeo. The Capulets are going to hold a party to bring Count Paris and Juliet together. Romeo finds out about this party through a servant who cannot read the guest list. He knows that Rosaline will be there so he doesn’t want to go. In the text, Act 1 scene 2a, it states, “Take thou some new infection to thy eye, And the rank poison of the old will die.” Benvolio is convincing Romeo to go to the party to find a new girl, and forget about Rosaline. Romeo decides to listen to Benvolio and go to the party. This shows how Romeos future was influenced by Benvolio’s opinion because he later meets Juliet at the party and forgets about Rosaline. Another example of a persons opinion effecting the future of someone else is when, Friar Laurence shares his opinion and influences the actions of Juliet. Tomorrow is the day that Juliet will be married to count Paris. Juliet does not want this marriage to happen, she wants to be with Romeo. So Juliet goes to Friar Laurence, and he changes Juliet’s actions by sharing his opinion.
