Puppy mills have been in America for decades. With time they are growing larger and becoming more popular. The United States Department of Agriculture is allowing this, and paying no attention the ongoing suffrage of animals under their watch. The easy and obvious fix to this issue is simply changing the standards that mills work by. This means that the horrible conditions that animals live their entire lives in would drastically change. Mothers would no longer live for the sole purpose of breeding, and would go on to be adopted after they have done their part. Currently, mother dogs breed on and on until their bodies cannot take it and after that, they are killed. Most mills do not practice humane euthanasia but instead use drowning or shooting
