In the critical literacy book, The Keeper, by Mal Peet, he uses a boy called Elgato while he is 14 years old at that time he loves playing soccer with his friend while not trying to be pushed down by people As the book begins with Elgato being in south america getting interviewed without him telling about his past he goes on with the interview while after that he went to the forest that was called south american rainforest while that he meet a man that was kicking around a soccer ball they both played with each other till something spooked them they both took a breather while they start to get into each other's past. One of the strongest themes throughout the book is “don't let people put you down” because people can be put down by them being bad at something or messing up on things that they said for you to do. …show more content…
In the middle it shows his dedication to soccer without giving up to what people say or think witch in one of the pages shows how he tells his best friend his past but doesn't tell anyone else. While he doesnt show emotions that much in the book. Elgato and his friend keeper trains to get better at soccer while Elgato quits school due to the fact that everyone was talk bad about him so they trained while overcoming interviews.Elgato likes to play soccer and try his best while like in real life if u get to good you might get So it shows how much he can take of his bullies and how to overcome them and don't give up and keep trying even though you're being disrespected it shows that a lot in the book. While in all of the pages it gives you a lot of the hints for the
