Is the name “Jack Off” is really acceptable for a young man? Living in a small town called Cherry Run in Pennsylvania all his life, Seth Hardy came across three people in life who affect him in a good and bad way in my opinion. Candy Bracknell, she’s his English teacher that Seth has been crushing on since he’s been in her class. Candice encourages Seth to apply for college application but she uses him with her problem with men. Claude Coarsen is the second person that influences Seth. With Coarsen beating and bullying Seth almost to his death, but Seth finally stood up for himself twice and the third person is Elizabeth. Candice knew that Seth always had a crush on her the boner would always tell when he cross his legs in an awkward sitting position and his face turns bright red. Seth had a really hard time with Claude Coarsen in. Seth had a really intense effect with Coarsen by getting bullied and getting beat up almost till his death. One negative event in “Initiation” is when Seth called Coarsen an ass-hole since Coarsen kept calling him jack off, and that’s when Coarsen and his crew beat up Seth in the woods (70-71). One positive event is when Seth distances his self from the group and another is when he gets sweet revenge on all of them. Seth urinated in Coarsen water jug and he swapped everybody lunches when they weren’t looking. Seth came across Coarsen again in “Buck Fever” (147) in the beginning of the chapter when Coarsen called Seth “Jack-Off”. One positive event was when Seth tells him, “My name is Seth and you can wait your turn” (149). One negative event is when Seth and his dad was in the woods hunting deer and Seth is thinking about shooting him but soon realizes it wasn’t worth
