Ali is a very religious man, meaning that he strongly believes and follows a certain religion. This was clearly shown through the actions of Ali`s “son” when Amir thought “Hassan never missed any of the five daily prayers.”(Houssine 57). Ali`s son`s dedication towards prayer shows his family routine. It shows his dedication towards his religion. “Like Hassan, Ali was incapable of lying”(Houssine 36). Ali isn't use to lying, just like his son. His pure, religious heart made him accustomed to speaking the truth. Prayer beads are a symbol for religion as they represent loyalty and consistency. In the story “The Kite Runner” by Khaled Hosseini the character Ali portrays a strong quality of kindness as one of his main characteristics, Ali does this upon multiple occasions although a main event of kindness was when ail had learned about Amir's deceptions as a child yet chose not to reveal Amir for who he was in front of his father. His actions in such a hard situation exemplified how he showed sympathy toward Hassan to the extent where he would sever his life-long relationship with baba in order to avoid living with Amir knowing full well his actions.
