Can anyone imagine what will happen to their body after they die? The three innocent men who wandered into the Landlady’s hotel didn 't expect what they received. Their stuffed and preserved bodies were found on the fourth floor of her hotel. Her plan was to lure men in and poison them without anyone getting suspicious. Her plan was perfect. No one would ever find the bodies until it was too late. After she killed the men, she would continue to perform taxidermy on their bodies. It 's not a pleasant way to find a body after death. Only this time around, she failed to keep her perfect plan perfect. With her poison and perfectly executed plan, the Landlady is a murderer and is responsible for the deaths of the men on her behalf.

Furthermore, the potassium cyanide was poured into Mr. Weaver’s tea which was given to him by none other than the Landlady herself. Unknowingly, Mr. Weaver drank the poisoned tea while the Landlady watched from the sidelines. His tea was never finished before the poison kicked in. Detectives examined the tea and their observations stated, “[The tea] was not in the least unpleasant, and...he wasn’t quite sure what it reminded him of. Pickled walnuts? New leather?” (Dahl 13). It was later brought into testing and noted as potassium cyanide. The tea had poison in it, and the Landlady didn 't put the poison in her cup. She put it in Mr. Weaver’s. If she was insane, the Landlady couldn 't have taken notice of which cup was poisoned. In her mind, poison was a quick and easy way to cause death without damaging the body. How could she have gotten her hand on the potassium cyanide in the first place if she hadn 't thought about how a victim 's death would play out? She couldn 't have. In order to get the potassium cyanide, the Landlady had to carefully plan how she would kill someone and then proceed to gather her supplies. This simply means to get the poison, the defendant would 've had to think about the cause of death before executing the plan. Insanity isn 't what caused these murders, precise planning from a complex
