Who thought that horror stories can’t be as scary as the movies? sometimes a horror story can be more horrifying and creepy than the movie itself. In this essay I am going to give my response to two horror stories that I have read, I will also talk about which one is better in my own perspective and elucidate why. It has been quite tough for me to decide which horror story is better than the other one. The first story is written by Edgar Allan and it is called The Tell-Tale Heart, the second story is written by Ronald Dahl and its name is The Landlady, both stories are written in different ways to put on different feelings to the reader, each story has its own method to make the reader feel the horror. In addition to that, I think that there are certain things that The Tell-Tale Heart beat The Landlady in them. One of these things is how the writer could make us feel the story and keep us reading it scrupulously as we are a part of it, an example is that when the man said quietly: “It was open --wide, wide open --and I grew furious as I gazed upon it.”, in that moment I felt like I’m living the story and not just reading it. That is the thing that The Landlady story is missing. Furthermore, I noticed that The Landlady is more restricted to the dramatic pyramid (Freytag's Pyramid) than The Tell-Tale Heart, what I mean by that is that The Landlady’s exposition, rising action, climax and falling action are coming more Sequentially and uncomplicated compared with the dramatic pyramid of the story The Tell-Tale
