Stories of Survival Three short stories that we have read and have the topic of survival in them are The Leap, Deep Survival, and The Most Dangerous Game. In each story the protagonists show bravery, strength, and intelligence. The Leap, is about the narrator surviving all her life because of her mom. Her mom was a flying Avalon and that is a circus performer. She saves her three times, and the first one was when she saved herself. She was in town square in a replica tent and the pole cracked. The second was when lightning struck the pole she was on and she let her first husband die and held on to the pole. She hurt herself and went to the hospital where she meets the narrators father. The third was when her house caught on fire and the narrator got stuck in it. She climbed to her window and jumped in. Then she took her down to safety. Each of these times her mom shows bravery, strength, and intelligence. Her mom is changed in to a better person because of this. Deep Survival, takes place after a plane crashes, in the middle of nowhere. Juliane Koepcke was flying with her mom when lighting hit the plane and It crashed. Juliane could not find her mom anywhere after the crush but her bravery keeps her going. All the others that live decided to stay in one spot intel someone found then. On the island he finds a house with a person named General Zaroff. Rainsford and Zaroff talk about hunting together. the nest day Rainsford realizes that he is the one being hunted. he uses his bravery to keep he from killing himself. Then he uses his intelligence to make a plan on how to kill Zaroff first. After a long hard fight Rainsford ends up killing Zaroff. the only way he was able to do so was because of his strength. Rainsford idea of killing animals for a sport was change and he recognized the feelings of the
