When Prophesies Become Reality: The Legend of Sleepy Hollow A sense of terror and danger grips its victims tightly as they witness an event of horrific proportions. Adrenaline begins to flow like a raging river through their vessals and they start to react with the fight-or-flight response. Fear is expressed by everyone and it is viewed as a negative emotion for many. However, there exists a large sum of individuals who enjoy the feeling that terror brings. Many people evoke this emotion through the use of digital media and the most common form of media is television. This is where Irving’s folk tale, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, is brought to life.
