Literary Essay I read the fiction novel, The Lemonade War by Jacqueline Davies. This book is told from the point of view of third person limited. Although this is told from third person limited, it’s being told my two people named Evan and Jessie. Evan and Jessie are siblings and each of them is an expert at different things, such as Jessie is good at math and school work while Evan is good with relationships with people. Evan figures out that his sister is skipping and grade and will be in the same class as him. Evan gets very angry at this and challenges her to a lemonade war. Throughout they continually argue and fight. In the end they talk things out and realize how good of a team they are together. There are many lessons I’ve …show more content…
In the book Jessie and Evan say mean things to each other during the lemonade war that normally they would never say to each other. Evan likes a girl named Megan Moriarty, but Jessie doesn’t know that. While Evan brought over his friend Scott Spencer to have a lemonade stand with him, Jessie thought that Evan didn’t like him and he didn’t. Evan was trying to upset Jessie, but inviting him over instead of asking her to have a lemonade stand with. Meanwhile Jessie didn’t know that Evan was trying to play with her feelings so she invited Megan Moriarty to make a lemonade stand of their own. Jessie and Evan never really had fought until this lemonade war. Each of them soon figured out what things bothered each other, like who they didn’t like. One day Jessie and Evan began to fight and both of them promised they would not fight around their mother, while they were fighting in the kitchen they heard their mom walking down. Their mom knew they were fighting but they told her they weren’t. Immediately both of them realized that they made a mistake and they regretted it. Evan and Jessie have never fought like this and both of them felt bad after they had already made the decision to say something and they wouldn’t have had to regret anything if they would not have said something mean in the first
