The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is about four siblings that discover the magical world of Narnia after hiding in a wardrobe in a new house they are staying at. Edmund previously met the Witch and she introduces herself as the Queen of Narnia and entices and convinces Edmund to bring his siblings to meet her. Greedy Edmund sneaks away to meet her, while his 3 other siblings devise a plan to conquer her and save their friends. Aslan, a lion and King of Narnia, has come back to help defeat the Witch and makes a great sacrifice. After a battle between good and evil, the four siblings defeat the Witch and reign over Narnia. I wanted to find and read more non-fiction books and heard this was a great and interesting series. I was pleasantly surprised and loved reading about Albert Einstein’s life from begging to end. I was stunned to read about the Nazi’s reaction and hatred for him. This book describes Einstein’s childhood, family, education, marriages, trials, tribulations, failures, successes, and end of life. It explores the time period and the world he lived in and how he changed it. The book also includes interesting details and background knowledge on scientific vocabulary and theories. I would have this book in my 5th-grade classroom for independent reading. This series would be great when teaching about biographies and comparing multiple resources. Students would read these books, articles, websites, watch movies, and write about people that have impacted society in their biography journal pages. At the end of the unit, we create a timeline and write a biography report. I believe this series is a great way to get students interested in non-fiction and learn more about famous personalities that changed the
