Literary Analysis: “The Love of My Life” "The Love of My Life," written by T.C. Boyle, tells the story of Jeremy and China, two high school students who share a deep and profound love for each other. Jeremy and China's relationship is portrayed as all-consuming and passionate, as they are completely infatuated with each other. Nothing else mattered to them, but their deep desires for each other. Despite the intensity of their relationship, both teens are faced with life-altering situations that lead them down a dark path of irrational decisions. Boyle masterfully explores the complexities of love and the sacrifices that come with it, creating a notable example of how love can drive people to act irrationally and make questionable decisions. Towards the end of the piece, the author describes how the consequences of these young adults' actions have tremendously altered their lives. Their relationship had become nonexistent.
