I consider the movie to be a spectacle of the French and Indian War with a clash of Hollywood archetype, it may not be my favorite movie in my collection, but it does have its pleasant views. In fact, I find it nostalgic due to the movie being released in 1992 and my early reference to a classic movie when I was only a child. I could already feel the magic of Magua as he threatens to kill Colonel Munroe’s children because of past hatred filling through my mind when I envision my childlike self-watching this movie in front of a small television. Indeed, this movie has more of a personal impact, yet it also has an interesting plot that I cannot lie to be infatuated with. For example, when the group of colonists leave for Albany, New York to meet with General Webb, is shows the contrasts of the colonists and to the high and mighty General Webb who stated that the French don’t have the integrity for war since all they are all lazy and boozed-crazed lovers, boasting that the English will clearly win the war regardless of the Indians assisting pampered men. This factor causes me to shiver with excitement, one of my favored elements within the movie, for I do love seeing the pride of a British man get into his head without realizing the truths of war. Furthermore, this comes to haunt the day of our high and mighty General Duncan who marched carelessly into George Road and was betrayed by their navigator, Magua, while watching his men get ambushed by war crying Indians running out of the woods and slashing his men with blundered hatchets. All in the name of war, yet not the war the British are accustomed to fighting, for that it shows the inexperience and naivety of the British Generals as they clearly expected the game will turn into their favors.
