In the case of the Manhattan Project, scientists without prior working knowledge and scientific experience would not have successfully been able to produce a nuclear weapon. As the documentary shows, the experienced scientists working together were able to put forth the working knowledge that would be difficult to not only verbally describe but also difficult to transcribe (tacit knowledge). Both Zillard and Fermi came together with their different approaches, thinking styles and methods, allowing for them to both apply tacit knowledge with each other and their teams. Although General Grove’s was warned against hiring Oppenheimer as the head at Los Alamos lab, his managerial style is quite possibly one of the reasons of success among the scientists.

An enormous amount, roughly an entire ton of uranium, was produced on a daily basis (Degarmo).
During World War II, the United States discovered that the energy of the atom could be used in a new form of bomb. However, the Germans also discovered this, meaning that it would be a race to actually complete the weapon. The U.S. knew it needed to act fast and so three facilities were created for the development of the weapon in Washington, New Mexico, and Tennessee. The plants in Tennessee were based in almost the middle of nowhere.

Roosevelt received a letter from Albert Einstein and his colleague Leo Szilard that stated a very powerful bomb could be created by using the forces of nuclear fission. The Manhattan Project was the code name for an American-led effort to develop and produce a functional atomic bomb during World War II that was led by General Leslie Groves and J. Robert Oppenheimer. President Franklin D. Roosevelt authorized the formation of the Manhattan project on December 28, 1942, which allowed military officials and many scientists to form a team to develop the atomic bomb. According to nobelprize.org, “Code-named "The Manhattan Project," the effort eventually employed more than 200,000 workers and several thousands scientists and engineers, many of European background.
In the United States, the Manhattan Project inflicted significant tension onto its citizens. During World War II, the various nations involved became extremely competitive in their efforts to successfully engineer an atomic bomb. For this reason, a desperation arose in The United States to keep information regarding the Manhattan Project absolutely secret. At the same time, propaganda spread fears of foreigners, especially of spies involved in America's defense or government. Based on my personal history I was new some facts related to the atomic bomb and its effects as well as its historical stance. When the bomb was used in 1945, during World War II over the Japanese city of Hiroshima the explosion wiped out 90 percent of the city and immediately killed 80,000 people. Furthermore, tens of thousands more had later died due to radiation exposure. When the second bob dropped in Nagasaki, it ended up killing an estimated 40,000 people. This atomic bomb was created by scientists from the United States and around the world as a result of the top-secret plan called the Manhattan Project.
This picture shows the contribution of two great scientists to the atomic bomb. They are working with plans on how to build the bomb itself and what they need to build it. Also they talk about what to do once they finalized their research and made the bomb. One last thing they are talking about is what target would have the most benefit for the United States of America to attack from that place. This all contributed to the winning of the war in the Pacific with the Japanese.
In 1939, the scientific community, specifically German physicists had learned the secrets of splitting a uranium atom (The Manhattan Project” 2015). America realized that Adolf Hitler’s Germany obtained a massive amount of scientific talent. With their access had necessary raw materials and knowledge of the splitting of the uranium atom, they had the industrial capacity to produce an atomic bomb(“Manhattan Project”2014). The atomic bomb would eventually become the turning point of weaponry during World War II. On October 11, 1939, President Franklin D. Roosevelt received a letter from Albert Einstein about the splitting of the uranium atom which could be beneficial in developing weapons for America during World War II.
The atomic bomb dropped on japan was a huge feat and paved the way into the atomic era. The American atomic bomb program also called the Manhattan project was a plan to design and build the world’s first atomic bomb. The project manager Robert Oppenheimer was the actual designer of the bombs. A facility was built in the Nevada desert near Los Alamos and they conducted testing of the bombs where the trinity test at the Alamogordo bombing and gunnery range. These tests finalized the dropping of the bombs on Japan to end World War 2.

With this discovery Oppenheimer wasted no time constructing the bomb. Then on July 16, 1945, the scientists of Los Alamos gathered around the Trinity test site to watch the detonation of the bomb, it was a success. The bomb worked just as planned, causing a massive mushroom cloud and disintegrating the steel tower it was set on.
