In the stories “The Masque of the Red Death” by Edgar Allan Poe wrote about an infectious disease. Whereas in “Climate Change Could Spread Plague” it tells how the infectious diseases are spread. In 1918, a devastating flu pandemic killed 20 million people worldwide. Have you ever thought about what the human cost would be if a similar pandemic occurred today? There would be so many sick people all over the world. The cost to help these sick/infected people would cost so much to help cure the worldwide spread. It would cost much more to cure the people, the government would have to pay the town, cities and states to work in the hospitals and clinics. What would be the cost to give a vaccine to stop the disease from spreading? The cost would be a whole lot to cure and stop the infectious disease from spreading and infecting more people. Doctors and nurses would be on the clock twenty-four hours, seven days a week. The doctors would have to stay to make sure the ones infected were being cured and the medicine was working to stop the disease. The hospitals would be packed with sick people, the clinics would be packed with people trying to get a shot, so they would not be infected with the infectious disease that was going around.
