The Message to Garcia written by Elbert Hubbard in 1899, showed many leadership traits demonstrated by Rowan. The three major leadership traits found in the reading was loyalty, dependability, and courage. Rowan was loyal, the way he accepted the mission without any problems. Mission to carry the message to Garcia was assigned to Rowan because he was reliable to perform this mission. Rowan showed courage by accepting the mission during dangerous time of war between Spain and the United States. By showing loyalty Rowan devoted to our country and the President of United States.
