The novel The Mighty Miss Malone is a beautiful story about a normal family living during the great depression, Deza Malone's family has the motto "We are a family on a journey to a place called Wonderful" and Deza is consistently marked in her school as someone who is sure to go far in life. However, when the Great Depression hits Deza's hometown of Gary,
Indiana, her father loses his job and must travel abroad in order to find work. Her mother uproots the family and goes out in search of Deza's father, with Deza and her brother ending up in a

I’ve gone through hardships and trying to keep my own family together.
Someone very dear to my family has passed on and it was one of the most horrible things i’ve experienced as a young child myself. I was 12 too when i’ve experience loss, at the time I couldn’t cope I was in denial and agony. But eventually I had to learn to grow up and accept what has happened and help my family in the process. So yes I feel more connected through
Deza than all the other characters.
The Mighty Miss Malone was a beautifully written novel about the great depression and how a family went through it. Deza and her family go through hell and back to find their missing father who lost his job and went to find one to support his family. When the family got tired of waiting for him they eventually go and try to find him suspecting he went missing. It tells you from Deza’s point of view which is surprising considering that she’s only 12 years old and yet very mature in the story. It’s important to read because this book gives you a sense of appreciation and value for everything you have know instead of whining about it and
