Analysis Essay Of The Minister’s Black Veil In The Minister’s Black Veil the impact of the veil first made the towns people scared and confused. The towns people didn’t know why the minister was wearing it and many assumed that he was hiding a sin of wrong doing. As he walked thru the towns people would whisper and children would hide wondering what he had done. Nobody understood the meaning behind the veil some people criticized the minister and some people started thinking about there own sins and wrong doing. The ministers black veil symbolizes sin and wrong doing and that we all have sinned and chooses to hid it but it will eventually come to the light. As the minister made his way toward the meeting house the sexton noticed a crape which is a sign of mourning upon his face. The towns people were astonished when they saw the minister walking toward the pulpit. Immediately everyone speculated the minister was hiding a sin of wrong doing which impacted them to think of there own sins and wrong doing. Some people was scared that maybe other people could see there sins and might criticize them. The towns people reaction to the black veil is justified because they do not understand the meaning of the veil. Sin and wrong doing is everywhere in the world some people want to hide what they have done by covering it up or changing their appearance. In this story the minister decides to wear a veil to hide his sin and in doing so is criticized by the towns people. The minister also loses his fiance for refusing to take the veil off. He lives alone in his darkness for the rest of his life not telling a soul why he wears the veil and will not remove
