Many films released in today’s society may cause conflicts between superheroes or which film is better, however, the movie The Interview is one of the most controversial films created. The Interview is one of the most spoked about especially how it refers to the conflicts between North Korea and the United States. This film feeds off information regarding killing a country's leader and displaying secretive information that is given to take over North Korea. In the film, the main characters are placed in a situation in order to help the U.S. acquire information and kill off the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un. In the film, it displays fake grocery markets as well as fake foods, however, many citizens are afraid how this movie is portraying the reality of there suffering in North Korea. For Instance, in an online article, “North Koreans review The Interview” by Lee Han-byeol, Park Ji-Hyun and Joo Kwang-Hyun, interviewers from the North Korean Network say “In fact, there are no fake grocery stores in North Korea, but the fake store represents something very real. The North Korean government never allows foreigners to see the miserable reality of some North Korean residents”(Han-byeol et al 3). We are able to see how this movie shows reality in a sense, but fakeness that leads to angerment of North Korean citizens. As a reader of this article, I was able to identify how this film expresses there a form of comedy by portraying realities that seem as fake, however, indicating false information throughout the film. Another part in the movie that showed false indications was when they arrive in North Korea and their citizens welcome the hosts happily and kind, but that is false because North Korea hates America making it seem they are happy to see us.
