The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell tells of how Sanger Rainsford, a famous hunter, was hunted. Rainsford always believed that there were two kinds of beings, those who hunted and those who were hunted. This opinion is altered after the events of Ship-Trap Island. Rainsford first thought that in hunting, the animals did not feel anything emotionally. While Rainsford talked to his friend Whitney, he told him that he only cared about hunting for the sport and not the animal. His friend had disagreed with that statement and said that the prey could feel the fear of pain and death, but Rainsford did not care and continued to talk.
