“The Most Dangerous Game” In the short story “The Most Dangerous Game” Richard Connell tells a captivating story with an eerie exposition, an exhilarating climax, and a non existent falling action. The author states that two sailors, Rainsford and Whitney, discuss the mysterious island called Ship Trap Island as they pass it on their yacht. As Rainsford is introduced to General Zaroff’s game Rainsford gets really worried and frightened. Richard Connell then leaves you on a cliffhanger when Rainsford leaves a trap, jumps off a cliff, and swims back to the house to be a surprise to General Zaroff. The author does a fantastic job in leaving you on your toes to be wanting to read more and more of the story. In the rising action Richard Connell
