“I just wanted to see how it felt to shoot Grandma,” is a quote from the crazy, messed up killer, Ed Kemper. Edmund Kemper, famous serial killer, was born on December 18,1948 and is still alive today. He was born in Burbank, California. Like a lot of serial killers, Kemper went through an abusive childhood. His parents were Edmund Emil Kemper, Sr. and Clarnell Stage. Kemper had both an older and younger sister. When his parents divorced in 1957, he moved in with his mother in Montana. After the divorce, his mother became an alcoholic and blamed all of her problems on Ed. She later forced Ed to live in the basement so he could not be a bad influence or harm his two sisters. He went hunting with the gun and shot animals such as birds and squirrels. When he was fifteen years old he shot his grandma and grandpa. Once he was caught for his crimes he was brought to the California Youth Authority where he was examined by a handful of tests. The results showed that he had an above average IQ and a case of paranoid schizophrenia. At twenty one years old he was released from the Atascadero State Hospital for the insane. He returned to his mother’s house even though doctors told him it was unsafe because of all the psychological events that took place there. He attended community college and worked for a bunch of low-paying jobs. He always dreamt of becoming a State Trooper but was denied because of his weight. By this time, Kemper was six foot and nine inches and weighed about 300 pounds. Around May 7, 1972 was when his killing began. He often kidnapped and offered “rides” to young hitchhiking girls. His first two victims were Mary Ann Pesce and Anita Luchessa. They both attended Fresno State College and sadly never returned home. Months later, a head of one of the victims was discovered in the woods. But the rest of the females remains were never found. Some of his other victims were Cindy Schall, Rosalind Thorpe, and Alice Liu. Ed would often go out and “hunt” for his victims after he had an argument with his mother. Kemper would dismember his victims by decapitating them and cutting off their hands. After this, he would often endorse sexual activity with them. His last two killings were his mother and his mother’s friend. When he was a younger child he always dreamt of killing his mother and it finally came true. Kemper killed his mother when she was asleep by hitting her head with a hammer and cutting her throat with a knife. He even removed her larynx and disposed of it in the garbage.
