Madeleine L’Engle once said, “Some things have to be believed to be seen”. In A Wrinkle In Time, Meg Murry’s father had been missing for 4 years. Three women named Mrs.Whatsit, Mrs.Who, and Mrs, Which found Meg, her brother Charles Wallace, and Meg’s friend Calvin and told them they could help them find Mr.Murry. They Tessered to another planet named Uriel and then Camazotz in order to find him. The story of A Wrinkle In Time is better than the movie because you can be more connected to the characters, you get the full storyline, and many things were changed from the story to the movie that would have been great if left alone. The creators of the movie changed things from the story like the form of IT. In the story, found on page 78, it says, “IT was a brain. A disembodied brain. An oversized brain, just enough larger than normal to be completely revolting and terrifying. A living brain. A brain that pulsed and quivered, that seized and commanded. No wonder the brain was called IT. IT was the most horrible, the most repellent thing she had ever seen, far more nauseating than anything she had ever imagined with her conscious mind, or that had ever tormented her in her most terrible nightmares.” By the way IT is described, there are many pictures going through the mind of the reader of what this looks like.It would have been interesting to see how the creators of the movie could have brought IT to life and the readers could see how accurate their image of IT was. In the movie, IT was not a giant disembodied brain. IT was something that Charles took Meg inside of. It had many black tentacle like things going around inside and it makes this part of the movie kind of confusing especially if you have read the story. Scenes from the story such as this one, could have stayed the same. The movie could have been more interesting if they would have stayed the same. But, it gets kind of confusing because you don’t really understand what is going on. Everything in the scene with IT just looks confusing. There are many other things that were changed and the movie could have been better if they
