The Myth of Aurora Borealis Along time ago, when mortals and immortals had settled down, there was an attractive village called ‘Sun-Moon Village.’ The Sun-Moon Village was a tranquil setting, where it’s balmy at day, and breezy at night. The mortals who had settled there, worshipped two immortals; a goddess, and a god. The goddess was an appealing female, who had her alluring blonde hair up in an uncluttered bun. Her outfit was a dazzling dress that twinkled brightly in the sun. Her name was Goddess Sun, she controlled the day, and made the fiery ball, named after her rise. Sun received her children, and she fled to ‘Paradise’ the birthplace of all immortals, Sun was now almost powerless, but she still enjoyed life. Day passed into weeks, weeks passed into months, months passed into years, years passed into decades, and decades passed into centuries. Sun fled down to Sun-Moon Village, she saw Moon as the king, and the mortals as the slaves. There was darkness everywhere. Sun was furious with Moon’s doing, Sun wanted to fight Moon but couldn’t, since she was almost powerless, and she had no scepter. She began to collect light in a magical satchel, and after a month, she had enough light, she let the light escape, and it painted the sky with bright colours, Sun had gained her power once again. Moon pleaded for forgiveness because he knew how strong sun was, and since Sun was sympathetic and humane, she forgave him, but she got a condition, she said “ Every eleven years I will collect light, and let it escape at night so the mortals will know that I’ll always be with their side.” And Moon said “Okay as you wish.” That’s how Aurora Borealis came to
