After reading the first part of The Myth of Sisyphus by Camus, I believe “the absurd” is the human tendency to summarize or try to understand something that doesn’t have a concise answer. Camus explains that the “absurd” comes from unanswered questions or assumptions combined with the curiosity of man. As a result, absurd is created by the human mind which is satisfied by jumping to conclusions. It does not matter whether or not the answer is correct. Camus states “If I judge that a thing is true, I must preserve it.” I believe he means once something is assumed it must be true.
