That’s Life For You American physician, philosopher, and author, Dr. Debasish Mridha once said, “ Life is an endless, boundless, and motionless cycle, even when it is transforming and transcending around us”. (QuotesAboutTranscending). This is explained in The Myth Of Sisyphus, as Camus describes Sisyphus fate after the punishment he was given by the gods to roll a boulder up a hill, repeatedly for all eternity. Sisyphus is in an endless cycle, where life keeps transforming and moving on without him. Sisyphus does not seem happy at all, having to push the boulder up over, and over again and thinking about how the entire task is a waste of time and effort. This may make people wonder about their place in life and if it is just an endless cycle of time and effort being wasted like Sisyphus. But, everyone has a role to play in life, some bigger than other, but none more important than the next, which is why Sisyphus keeps pushing the boulder up the hill and why people keep moving forward. They may think that they are not making a big change in life doing the same thing repeatedly. It could also make people see that what they are doing may actually be of importance and to cherish those memories. The Myth Of Sisyphus also shows how one can not just be happy without having an absurd goal. Camus say, “Happiness and the absurd are two sons of the same Earth. They are inseparable. It would be a mistake to say that happiness necessarily springs from the absurd discovery” (48; Mercury Reader). People often do something not because of the money but because it is something that makes them happy and something that they truly like doing even if that maybe an absurd goal or idea.
