Itoro Okokon The NAACP is one of the most known civil right organizations in America and as a whole, it has impacted many of the events in American history. There are many factors that have allowed them to succeed in their endeavors, such as their values and norms and overall culture. They strongly mirror a bureaucracy because they contain an executive board that include many positions seen in governments. The NAACP, which stands for the National Association of the Advancement of Colored people is built on superordinate and subordinate interactions, interpersonal relationships and social networks. Every individual that is part of the organization, essentially carry the same values and norms. They would also take part in the same rituals that keep it running. The organization recruits members of all ages and it is divided into what is known as the NAACP Youth and College Division. There, youth of all ages are cultivated in the general culture of the NAACP and can partake in the rituals. They carry these ideas into their adulthood where they then can fully divelege themselves into the organization. Essentially, there isn’t a chance for a subculture to be created,and if there is, a new organization would unfold. This is because the culture of the NAACP is very fixed and not diverse. This is seen when Cornell Brooks the former national president of the NAACP was dismissed. His leave brought attention to the need for the reconstruction of the organization, with an emphasis on the foundation of local branches. The leaders of this organizations saw that it needed to better to adapt on combating the issues of society and in doing so some aspect of their culture would need to be reviewed. Overall, the change in presidency brought awareness to the other leaders on how the general culture needed to be changed so they could achieve their goals and adhere to their values (Eversley
