Will Smith first started off in music then later joined the film industry. He has won four Grammy awards and is also on the Forbes list despite not attending college at all (Sanchez 1). Smith’s SAT grades were very high and qualified him to join college but he did not join college as he wanted to pursue his talent in rap which clearly paid off.
Hip-Hop When one hears the word, “hip-hop”, images of money, drugs, violence, and provocative dancing instantly arise. Once someone hears the loud hip-hop music blasting out of a teenager’s room, they immediately criticize them for listening to what they call “nonsense”. Despite some people’s inherent distaste of hip-hop, this genre of music is actually sending an incredibly enriching and influential message. In “Hip-Hop and Shakespeare”, a TED talk, Akala, the speaker, argues that hip-hop motivates people to be intelligent and successful.

Owning an education degree does not matter and its not required by “nature” and “creativity”, and “wisdom” in order to obtain knowledge. President Barak Obama made public references while speaking to the audience in a general election campaign town hall speech in Georgia. President Obama exhorted children asking them to stay in school and achieve their dream through “education”, and perservance instead of hoping for “shortcuts” to “fame and riches” stating, “ you are probably not that good of a rapper. Maybe you are the next Lil Wayne, but probably not; in which you need to stay in school”.
Hip hop is normally handwritten words that usually rhyme. Since many people are educated in writing, this allows anyone to publicly say their opinion about anything. However, this causes many issues. People think this music promotes violence, a negative message, and degraded black stereotypes.

Midgette expressed how hip hop, or rather rap music, has been a distraction to his students and their work ethic, causing them to skip class.

Exercise One: Defining Culture through Recent Hip-hop Controversies Since I was in middle school and began to form my own taste in music, I fell in love with the world of hip-hop. The quick beats and clever lyrics were addictive and as I started to educate myself more on the artistry and history that came with this genre, I understood how American hip-hop was more than music. This genre has been very closely associated with African American, Afro-Caribbean, and Latino culture and has been since its rise in the seventies (Colombia 2023). In this sense, culture is the historical makeup of a group of individuals through a common medium like music. However, culture in the modern day is not only seen as the history of a shared community but is used

The influence it posses on teens is extremely huge plus very misleading. Its lyrics paint images of a life filled with drugs along with guns that teens believe in. As a result of rappers being so influential it makes others easily convinced.
