Altering Perspectives Erin Morgenstern says in The Night Circus, “The finest of pleasures are always the unexpected ones” (Morgenstern 250). Perspectives can influence others to act in a certain way, when people have different perspectives it can cause conflicts in society. The Night Circus, a novel by Erin Morgenstern exhibits the social issue how everyone has a different perspective on the same situations, and seeing it similarly can create personal benefits. People can manipulate the way others look at things the way they want them to. In the book the man in the grey suits says, “People see what they wish to see. And on most cases, what they are told to see” (Morgenstern 28). Marco was told to see two different magic shows, he could tell that the second was a real magician try to make it look fake so people wouldn't notice. Marco noticed because he had different perspective going into the show because of what the man in the grey suit has taught him prior about magic. Tsukio says to Isobel at the funeral, “Do you think perhaps those things would be more different to reconcile if you weren't part of them yourself? The whole book is based on different ways people manipulate perspectives whether it be with magic, keeping people from letting out your secrets or if you can't have your perspective changed because you look at the world differently. I think that this happens all over the world on a daily basis, this can cause issues because when people look at things differently it can cause arguments and conflict, the book addresses it very well by using magic as an example of manipulation perspectives very easily for personal
