Define: Everything
The Norton Sampler did a sound job of putting the ideas of how to describe things together. It is helpful to read the explanation of definition. In The Norton Sampler, the story Guys vs. Men is a humorous example of how to use definition. Also it is a necessary reminder for me to read the “Incorporating Source Materials” portion of The Norton Sampler. These few sections of reading were helpful and a pronounced refresher in my education.
From The Norton Sampler, the defining portion is extremely helpful and organized. I thought The Norton Sampler did a thorough job of describing definition. Also, the templates for defining ideas are going to helpful when writing future essays. The templates will give me a start to a paper if I ever encounter a writer’s block. Another reason I enjoyed reading The Norton Sampler is because after it defined a word it gives excessive examples to back it up. I appreciate the examples, so I know how it will apply to a real world situation.
Another part of The Norton Sampler that is a much needed review for me is how to incorporate sources into the material I create. Reviewing quoting, paraphrasing, and summarizing helps me understand how I should use each of them in the future. Men. Guys vs. Men is a humorous example of how to use definition correctly. I appreciated the amount of humor that Guys vs. Men uses when includes superscripts. It is a humorous story that defines guys through Dave Berry’s viewpoint. When Berry explains “guys are similar to my small auxiliary backup dog” I smiled to myself since it used another species to describe the human race.
