Response to “The Nun's Priest's Tale” "The Nun's Priest's Tale" Is a story of good plot and character description though 600 years later does not appeal to me very much. "The Nun's Priest's Tale" is a mock-heroic story composed in the 1930's. Chauncer uses the traditional stereotypical image of a hero with a twist in "The Nun's Priest's Tale" to support the heroic style of writing. He uses an idea of many mock plots. He uses a mock-romance plot by describing Chaunticleer's many wives and lovers. Chauncer uses a cock instead of a fierce, fearless knight to show that the story is mock-heroic style.
