Vin Kash Mrs. Schultz English 9 8 May 2023 Romeo and juliet - The Nurse and Laurence Imagine not being able to act upon your love due to your last name. Romeo and Juliet is a play by William Shakespeare about two young lovers that marry and have that exact problem. Their was multiple obstacles for them due to their different households that had an ongoing “war”. This is where the Nurse and Friar come in, the Nurse and Friar Laurence are one of the main reasons that Romeo and Juliet were able to marry. The nurse would bring information back and forth from romeo and juliet and would arrange certain things. The friar was the one to marry and create plans for Romeo and Juliet. The Nurse and Friar mostly did the right thing. The nurse was able to send information back and forth between the two. This is seen in act 2 scene 4-5 where Romeo is telling the Nurse when they will marry “This afternoon, sir? well , she shall be there.” (Shakespeare 2.4 - 415). This quote shows the way the nurse receives the information right from Romeo to then take to Juliet. she does this multiple times and also can be seen basically planning some events like the marriage.
