The question of where religion originated from still remains a mystery today. The origin of religion is more a speculation than an investigation for many scientific researchers and tracing where religions primitive forms were first to come up they might even be able to determine the features of those religions as well (“The Origin of Religion in the Race”). Many of us don’t realize how much religion plays a big part in our lives from what we eat, pray, and the specific holidays we are a part of. This also puts into question what would our faith, life and actions be like if we had no access to our scriptures that are a part of our religion. The Bible in Christianity is made up of two different testaments the old testament and the new testament. The scriptures that are the most holy to Christians is the Old testament which is also a part of the Hebrew scriptures which is called the Tanakh by the Jews and both are considered as a part of the Old testament (Power Point). Since there are many branches in Christianity it caused the formation of different books to form that are a part of the Old testament. Just like there is an old testament that is a part of the Bible there is also a new testament, however, the new testament is made up of multiple books which is written after the origin of Christianity was formed. In these scriptures it explained through writings the important events that occurred in Jesus life and the changes Christianity made to the Jewish tradition. The New testament is different from the old testament as it is written in Greek and includes four different types of texts. These texts range from the Gospels to the Revelation each containing a specific reason for being written in that form (Power point).
