This essay discusses both the author Wes and the other Wes different outcomes as to how they ended up in the future. This was all mostly based on the choices they made in the past , Not only that but the fact that they both missed out on having their fathers in their lives. This comes to show that whether or not you let something affect you it will also affect your future and who you become. The author Wes turned out to be a very successful man and even got married . As to the other Wes who is in prison for the rest of his life only getting to see his kids once in a while behind bars . In the book the author Wes was much more motivated to do better in life as to the other Wes who did not really care about what went on in his life as to where his reputation on the streets meant more to him . Military school played a very important part in the author Wes’s life , due to his mother’s efforts of gathering the money to make it possible for him to go. The author Wes was dedicated to sneaking out of Valley Forge simply because he felt like he could not handle being there. The author’s tone in this chapter states how eager he was to leave the camp , but when he calls his mother on the phone he realizes that all his mom wanted for him was for him to have a better future.
