The Other Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fates is a New York Times Bestseller by none other than, Wes Moore. This novel features an intriguing tale of two boys who grew up under the same circumstances, under the same names, and with the same chances; and yet one manages to become a Rhodes Scholar, decorated combat veteran, White House Fellow, and business leader while the other grew up heisting and selling drugs until he received a life sentence for felony murder after shooting a police officer. The more successful Wes Moore, Wes Moore, began to visit the less successful Wes Moore, the other Wes Moore, during his prison sentence in order to write the book. Furthermore, the book turned out to be great. It was much better than I had anticipated before reading it. Wes Moore is a strong author who properly used writing mechanics to deliver powerful scenes and great messages. I would say that the main theme of this book is the importance of education in adolescent life and that small things really can make all of the difference. The author Wes Moore 's life appeared very dull in comparison to the other Wes Moore 's; however, it was Wes Moore 's life that would provide quotes that inspire or were otherwise relatable to MAST life. To continue, the other Wes Moore 's life was packed with drama. The drug and crime-induced life that he lived was thrilling, yet not in the way most teens want to relive. His life gave insight into the consequences of drugs and serious premarital relationships. His life was more interesting to read about in my own opinion yet it the other Wes Moore is far from any role model figure of mine. I did enjoy the other Wes ' blunt way of speech like in the quote, “Your father wasn’t there because he couldn’t be, my father wasn’t there because he chose not to be. We’re going to mourn their absence in different ways"
