In most people’s lives, there is a crucial point which determines the outcome of their future. In Part 2 of The Other Wes Moore, a twentieth century novel, Wes Moore illustrates the crucial turning points in two characters’ lives for his readers. The arrest of “the Other Wes Moore” in 2000 captured Wes Moore’s attention, causing him to research and compose his novel. In Part two of The Other Wes Moore, Wes Moore uses juxtaposition to show readers the differences in crucial points of each of the Wes Moore’s lives. First, Wes Moore utilizes juxtaposition to display to his audience the differences between the Wes Moore’s teenage years. The Other Wes Moore was caught up in selling drugs while, for the most part, Wes Moore was staying out of trouble and considering his future ahead. The juxtaposition between these two quotes illustrates to the audience that Wes Moore’s teenage years were none the like. They can now realize that the Wes’s are diverging into two very different people. Moore continues to utilize juxtaposition to compare the two of Wes’s lives. Next, Wes Moore uses juxtaposition to show his audience the distinctions between the education of both characters. Moore writes, “Valley Forge Military Academy is in Wayne, Pennsylvania.
